Lunch with a View

13.1C with early showers clearing to sunny sunshine. Light to moderate N/NW/NNW breeze.

This morning Fergus and I got my car and I drove us to Tayinloan for about 11am. The ferry for Gigha was just setting off as we arrived in the car park. There was a little light rain falling but I could see the cloud would soon blow over.

We walked along the beach to see the wreck of the Island Queen, then carried on walking right along the beach and round the bay at Point Sands holiday (caravan) park. The weather got clearer and brighter as we wandered along. There are good clear views past Gigha to Jura from the point, and once the point itself is cleared the view extends up to the peninsula out by Kilberry and Loch Stornoway. I got some flat stones from the beach and put them by the edge of the grass, where there was a drop off about 2 feet or so to the beach and made a place to sit. We had some lunch and sat for a while.

We wandered back the way we had come, stopping now and again. On the way I picked up a good few pieces of broken pottery with colour on, and one nice small piece of blue Sea Glass. Back at the car park the 2pm ferry was just about to leave.
