The already and the not yet

Today I saw the two faces of Belfast, the old and the new.

The old represented by the burnt shell of the Bank Buildings, (main picture) where I could still taste the acrid smoke and soot one week on.

The new, represented by the pop up of the Band of the Irish Guards (extra picture) – a  British army presence in full view in the centre of Belfast with limited police presence. - being applauded for their playing.

We live in the white noise of the “already” and the “not yet”, the past and the future, dismay and hope.

I love re-imagining the future. I have no control over my past of your past. What I have in my gift is to ensure that my future makes room for you.
That is my endeavour
