MONO MONDAY - EXOTIC

Exotic : originating in or characteristic of a distant foreign country.

Most of you will know that instead of a party to celebrate our Golden Wedding in March, we decided to go and visit our son in Vietnam, whom we hadn’t seen for almost seven years.

We spent a few days with him and then went to Mia Muine, a beach resort a four hour train journey from Ho Chi Minh, and spent five days there, just chilling out.  Sadly, it was too hot to go on the beach during the day, so several mornings found us wandering along the beach at sunrise.  You can see what we did at the beach here and here.

I picked up several shells from the beach, some to keep and some to give to the son of a friend, who collects shells - as I knew he would love them and of course, they would remind us of the time we had spent at the beach at Mia Muine.

When we got home after a month away, I decided to make a journal (they used to call them scrap books when I was a child!) of our Golden Wedding adventures, so I printed off all my Blips, added more photographs, making sure I documented where they were taken, train and plane tickets, menus from various restaurants and other memorabilia and this included some beautiful shells.

So these shells have come from an exotic beach in Vietnam, which is definitely a “distant, foreign country”, and brought back memories for me.  They look much prettier in colour, but today’s challenge is something exotic in mono, although if you look at the links above, you will see the glorious colours of Vietnam.

     we are beautiful
          and unique
               each with a story
                    to tell.”
