Redwing

There's a miniature acer on the bank below the terrace.  It's not happy. 
It's been planted in the wrong place for both its needs and for aesthetic location but its been there for far too many years to consider moving it to somewhere more suitable, so it sits there looking brown and tired.

However, on close inspection, the seed wings are a spectacular colour.
