100 Years

Albert Square is used for an amazing array of events through the year. It is a public space that is worked really hard. Often I pass it and am surprised by what I see.

Being set up today is an event to mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of the RAF. In shot is a Spitfire. Also to be see are a Typhoon, a Harrier, the front of a Lancaster bomber, and what I thought I heard was a Sniper (it’s a bi plane, anyway). No doubt lots of other things too - it’s on from tomorrow till Sunday.

Extra - one strange juxtaposition. A Typhoon with Manchester’s high rise skyline emerging beyond it.
