Glasgow CIty Center

Dear Diary,

Another wonderful day visiting Glasgow City Center and the building that houses the Glasgow civic government. We went on a tour of the stunning building and sat in on a civic law court as guests of a friend of Katherine and Martin who is an elective official. She treated us to lunch and then it was off to see the Museum of Transportation. (Extra)

The museum is housed in a striking modern building and the exhibit space included a street scene of 1900 where you could walk and visit the shops. A thoroughly delightful way to spend a rainy day. We finished at a patisserie on Victoria Road the most ethnically diverse area of Glasgow. The shop was owned by an Algerian couple, we were waited on by a Polish young woman and it is a meeting place for the Syrian community! Scotland embraces immigrants and it gives the city a wonderful, open-hearted feeling.
