In Transit.

Today has been mostly about packing and travelling.
We had an hour's transfer to the airport at Heraklion this morning, passing some amazing panoramic views over Mirabello Bay with the sweeping background of the mountains which rise up from sea level.
Onwards to the level plain where Heraklion lies and the airport which borders the sea.
A smooth 4 hour flight followed.
We were picked up at our local airport here, Birmingham International, and whisked off homewards through light rain and autumnal colours everywhere. England is so green when seen from the air.
The garden has had another explosion of colour whilst we've been away.
A small handtied posy of garden flowers had been left virtually on our doorstep.
The same thing happened last year .....to welcome us home.
They are now in a small colourful jug.
It is a touching gesture. Whoever leaves them knows that this past week contained the memory of our first son's loss aged 30 on September 10th. 2016
And they knew we were coming home today......
Time for bed.
