Monttisfont

Today was the annual outing of the Waddesdon Manor Volunteers,  We are treated to a day out as a reward for all the work we do over the year and two coachloads arrived at Monttisfont this morning.  It's a great opportunity to talk to volunteers in other areas of the Waddesdon Estate as well as see another National Trust Property; Monttisfont staff were brilliant and gave us all short tours of the property before leaving us time to explore on our own.  It's a very interesting place having once been a Benedictine priory and has remnants of its original status.  The blip shows the Cellarium where provisions from the estate would have been stored.  I had found the leaf a while earlier and carried this 'prop' around as I knew it would come in useful.

On the return journey, the coach I was on developed a fault.  Our driver got us (slowly) to the Chieveley Services where we could wait safely and comfortably while the fault was sorted - this took about an hour.  We arrived back late but OK and it only meant I was home with just enough time to grab a bite to eat before heading out for a Tring Choral Society rehearsal.
