If you can't beat them...

Solace Day 13. CRT Workers.

A return to pleasant weather, with a damp start.  The damp start gave Clickychick and unusual blip.  Both of us generally start the day by taking shots of Solace at her moorings.  As CC walked away  from the boat she saw a Grass Snake at her feet.  It obligingly slid into the canal and swam away giving her time to get a blip.

As we headed back along the Shroppie towards Tattenhall we came across this blockage.  A gang of 4 were reparing/upgrading the canal towpath.   "Do you mind waiting 10 minutes we were asked" - obviously no problem, so we tied up to a work boat and watched them working.  After a while they moved the "flat" they were unloading materials from, ran the little blue tug (at the back of the "flat" on the left of the blip) through the gap to be sure we could get through and off we went.

We arrived at the Marina too early.  Not an uncommon occurrence which is usually solved by cruising on past mooring for the night and coming in to the marina about lunch time on the Thursday.  This time things got a little more complicated.  We thought we would go round a corner to get away from the railway line.  We were then greeted by a mile or two of moored boats!
