Little Bird - No Big Bird

It was an absolutely beautiful morning, so welcome after the rain yesterday. I shot this blue tit amongst the rose hips early and decided to take Ollie to Panshanger Park to try to spot the osprey. It was seen there yesterday at around 10:00 am. It has hung around much longer than usual on its way south to Portugal or Africa.

The viewing platform near Osprey Lake was was full of birders. We saw and photographed red kites, buzzards and hobbies but unfortunately the big bird we had come to see didn't show. I was there until about 3:00pm. Ollie was perfectly behaved and a great hit with two women. My extra shows them looking at a gorgeous vid made by Russell Savory, the BBC and Wildlife Trusts camerman, on his mobile. The logo on the backpack was all the osprey action I got. Gallant Russell made we three women bacon butties for lunch. :)
