Everyday I Write The Book

On a high note

The last day of my birthday celebrations. TSM and I had Vegan Cream tea at cafe 41 near Hyde Park

with TGR and K. Gorgeous. Loved the smoked carrot brioche in particular and the cakes were amazing. They do good looking lunches and full vegan English breakfasts ... suspect we will be heading back there.

Before that we went to the Science Museum for an hour and a half for nostalgia, which I have to say is so interesting these days. Interactive, well presented, fun. Got a nice shot of TGR and K in front of a big red thing (see extras).

I don’t know a lot about engineering.

The walk around the Serpentine after tea was both lovely and particularly captivating if you had a camera with you (see extras). Great birdie and sculpture shots. Big thing in the lake looks amazing. Don’t ask what it means. All comers welcome. It’s just big and fun.

TGR and K went off to a concert and we had drinks in an alleyway in Mayfair then dirty vegan food in by Chloe off Covent Garden. That all sounds far seedier than it really was. The drinks were watermelon cocktails and a superior montepulciano. And there is nothing really dirty about By Chloe. But TGR went to Sutton and Sons in Stoke Newington before her gig and had the vegan banana blossom "fish" and chips. Apparently it’s awesome. Must get up there.

Great day if you were vegan with a birthday. Great day full stop. How amazing this last week has been ... God how great ...TSM has given me an amazing start to being sixty something.
