Summery Interlude

After a cool, dewy, start the day has been a warm one.  Working in the garden, moving some claggy arisings to infill a raised frame, it was shorts weather this afternoon and has stayed that way into the evening.  A brief return of summer.

A good day to spend a bit more time outside than has been the case for a while.  As well as the hard labour, I managed some weeding and sorted a group of pots of seed from 2017 and earlier.  With no sign of germination, most of these will make infill for a new raised bed.  Any seed remaining might surprise me there.  Jamie and I had a run out to Taverham Garden/Craft Centre, returning with compost, cement, grit, manure and wool.  I'll leave you to work out who bought what!

Crocus speciosus often hybridises with Crocus pulchellus in cultivation producing hybrids such as this.  Rather nice and also easy to grow :-)
