Daybreak in Docklands

After an overnight stay hear London City airport for me (Chris), I took an early morning walk to day 2 of the conference I was attending next to the O2. Along the way, I stopped to photograph Millennium Mills and Premier Mill. Much loved as a destination for tv recordings and urban explorers despite being ridden with dangers like asbestos, they are both now due to be redeveloped as part of a wider scheme in the area (Silvertown). Then it was on to the Emirates Airway to get back across the water (see the extra).

A good day at the conference today with a final session delivered by four times Olympic gold medallist Sir Matthew Pinsent. He told a good number of stories about his time as a rower and I got a chance to chat for a couple of minutes afterwards, to see the medals close up and get an obligatory photo (see second extra).
