More Fall Color

Dear Diary,

This time it is in my own backyard.  We had a rainy September and that usually means really splendid October colors.  We are reaching our peak this week so expect a few more red, orange and yellow posts!  My grasses usually turn color but it seems a bit more vivid this year.  I will be gathering some of those seed heads for an arrangement today.

John is coming this morning to begin the garden cut-back.  Except for the asters and a few random late bloomers, the garden is very tired and needs tucking into their beds for the winter.  It is a bad year for mice too.  Emerson caught his second last night.  All signs are pointing to a tough winter.  I hope not.
