Newhaven to Cramond ...

It's almost the 2nd Saturday of the month, and we're planning a walk in North Edinburgh for Saturday 13th - it's a much more urban walk this month, with one section even passing through quite an industrial area, but including a wonderful stretch of Esplanade along the Firth of Forth; oh, and 2 pubs :-)

Outline details for the day are as follow:

- meet at the western end of Newhaven Main Street (map link here:

Newhaven Main Street has free on-street parking ... and also Lothian Bus services 7, 11 or 16 all go nearby!

- the walk will thus start from Newhaven Main Street
- we may well have a closer look at Newhaven Light House:

- before walking along the shore (through quite an industrial stretch!) to Granton
- in Granton, we will go past the new Social Bite Village:

- we'll then also go past the Granton Castle Walled Garden:

- eventually joining the Granton to Cramond Esplanade, which follows along the Firth of Forth - PDF leaflet: https://tinyurl.com/y7xga2rt
- then, when arriving at Cramond, we can obviously visit the Cramond Inn for potential mid-walk refreshment/s ;-)

- in essence, we'll then return by the same route
- finally ending up at the Starbank Inn:

... which is just a very short walk thereafter to any transport left in Newhaven Main Street :-)

- the overall route is some 10miles in length and should take no more than 5-hours.
and it really is a very flat route this month - honest!
