Pumpkin-coloured fungus

Tuesday
Our hot sunny weather continues, but it’s about to change - by Friday, we will be dropping about 30 degrees into the mid fifties! I was out this morning at Knitting ministry - the first time I’d been since the summer, as they only meet once a month, and we were gone in September. We were a fairly small group today - just six of us - but good fellowship and chat, and quite a few prayer shawls, hats and Linus blankets blessed, ready to be sent out. After a bit of lunch, Roger and I headed up to John Bryan State Park, just north of Xenia, and went hiking along the Little Miami River - we did about 5 1/2 miles. On our return, Roger spotted this large, bright orange fungus on a fallen log, 3 or 4 feet from the trail. It was just the colour of a pumpkin, so I thought very appropriate for an October blip!
