At long last an outing to see Rip it Up. And it was a great blast from the past; so many album and 7" sleeves to secretly (and not so secretly) squeal about - and a poster for the Edinburgh Carnival Against the Nazis, noting how the Clash were "supposed" to play. I do remember the rumours circulating - a helicopter had been seen - while the Valves thrashed through their set. Some prominence given to the Poets and the Beatstalkers, neither of whom I’d heard of (nor Finitribe), and I guess I’d have relegated Fish, the gawdawful celebrity Hibs fan. Haw.
And if Lonnie Donegal gets big licks for living in Glasgow till he was two, where’s David Byrne?
A most enjoyable eat afterwards over at the Outsider before we headed back down to the shore.
