Bird Cherry

It was our Wednesday afternoon's jaunt to a garden centre. That;s 3 different Dobbies we've visited in a week!

When we got home the low evening sun was shining on the bird cherry, Prunus padus. It's leaves have spectacular autumn colours some years. This is obviously one of those years!

I went out in the dark and sat out in the greenhouse doing the BTO Tawny Owl calling survey. I didn't hear any tonight. For those that don't know, the "twit-twoo" is actually 2 birds calling. To make it easy to remember which is which, the male says "Where are you-ooo-ooo?" The female replies "I'm here, you twit, twit twit!"
