The red tree

Such a dreary afternoon; such a contrast with yesterday. We chose to walk inland, away from the grey sea and out of the wind that was driving rain against the window. Good choice. The walk along the old road past Puck's Glen was like a walk along a golden tunnel, each turn revealing new splashes of autumn colours. Even the rain died out. We were on the point of turning to come back - I had a meeting tonight, so we had to eat early - when I saw this little red tree across the road. It seemed significantly cheering at a point when I would cheerfully have called it a day.

My extra photo is of the wonderful sunset sky that lit up our dining room as we ate in the early evening. Who could tell what is forecast for tomorrow?
