Freeport, Maine

We set off this morning on the long drive to Freeport in Maine passing through New Hampshire on the way. We had heavy rain for the whole journey and it was still raining when we arrived in Freeport. So we headed for the shops.

First port of call was The British Shop. In my extras you can see Betsey and T outside. It was a great shop full of familiar British goods..... for example - Cadburys chocolate bars , Yorkshire tea, Tiptree jam, Walkers Crisps. Also lots of British souvenirs.

Our next stop was L L Bean ..... a huge clothing and outdoor store on 3 floors. We spent a long time looking around there and all 3 of us made purchases. My blip shot is of Betsey and I in front of the large boot outside L L Bean. The store is famous for selling this type of boot.

We looked in a couple of other shops where I spent more money and then headed to Wicked Whoopees. We chose some to take home and some small chocolate ones which we ate inside. See extra shots.

Then it was time to go to an Italian restaurant to meet Betseys friend Sarah. ( Sarah's son owns the restaurant) Had a lovely meal.... shrimp risotto followed by espresso gelato.

Afterwards we went to Sarah's house where we are staying overnight. We sat around chatting for a while before retiring to bed.
