An Autumn Still Life

Dear Diary,

After three days of busyness around here, cleaning, garden work and winter preparations, today is going to be a quiet day for Emerson and me.  This is the arrange on by my fireplace made up of the dried cuttings from the garden and a few gourds.   It is nice to look forward to a day that isn't full of "things to do".  I finished this week's course work for my on-line class from Trinity College too.  Yes, we all need days like this.  I may just put on my fleece and curl up with my book.
