Another level

An enjoyable visit to a matcha tea house provided the opportunity to try some special, ceremonial grade matcha grown and produced here in Japan.

Most of the powder sold in supermarkets is what’s known as culinary grade and vastly inferior to the ceremonial powder which is prized for its colour and texture amongst other things. Often imported from China, it retails at a very different price too. This high end Japanese stuff is £50.00 per 100g!

And yes, I could taste the difference...
