Life through the lens...

By ValC

What spooked the birds?

It could have been a sparrowhawk which we saw earlier. (Have a look large)

We have arrived in Norfolk!
Glorious sunshine when we got here at about 12.30pm.
First stop Titchwell RSPB.
Very windy. Not good for taking photos.
Started with a nice warming bowl of vegetable soup, and coffee at the cafe.

Then walked down to the new hide. The sun was so bright it was difficult to see the birds, but a kind lady with a huge telescope  let me have a look at a tiny water pipit. So many other birds too numerous to mention.
Down on the beach the wind was blowing strong, but we had a lovely walk . The golden sun light was beautiful, as although only just after 2pm it was sinking in the sky.
Lots of oystercatchers just sitting at the waters edge, with their heads tucked in, and little sanderlings scurring about, in and out of the waves.

On the way back to the car, a lot of birds had gathered on the lagoons, when suddenly they all flew up, and I just managed to get this shot.

On the way to the cottage, we called at Adnams for a bottle of their house white burgundy, and then to Morston for the mussels.
So  that's  our meal tonight sorted! I better get started!

Not sure what we are doing tomorrow. It depends on the weather.

Have a good week everyone!
