Oystercatcher plus Rail

This morning we drove to the  Magnolia Plantation, where we took a long, productive walk and had a modest lunch. In the afternoon we had the two birds I've posted, both at the Pitt Street Causeway (see the map): an American Oystercatcher and a Clapper Rail (the extra)--a secretive bird found in marshes very difficult to see; I was glad to get this shot.  Later  we took a horse-dawn carriage ride in downtown Charleston (a major tourist attraction), followed by an early dinner at an excellent restaurant.
