Back to Earth

Home and feeling just a little jaded after the long drive yesterday.  A decent, sunny day but cold.  Phone calls, including a chat with a journalist writing for The English Garden magazine.  He's done a series on National Collection holders and their plants, Crocus are the final feature.

Cooked a nice Shepherds Pie with cheesy scone cobbles atop for tea and now about to watch 'Walking Britain's Lost Railways' on C5 catch up, an episode featuring a route that ends near Barmouth, not far from where we stay in Wales.

Crocus banaticus - unique for it's much smaller inner petals and froth of purple style branches.
