River Nith

Today's the day …………………………. to have a picnic

Well not really - it was much nicer inside The Boathouse at Glencaple having one of their very different and delicious brunches (see extra).

This is where the River Nith, that has come through Dumfries, makes its way slowly to the Solway Firth.  The views in all directions are stunning - and remind us slightly of the River Kent at Arnside. 

Today we were off in search of some furniture for our new house.  We're having such fun exploring this part of Scotland which has a character all of its own - and has already won our hearts...………………...
