To See New Englandly

False Advertising

We don't have a single traffic light in my town; traffic at the main intersection in town is steered in the proper direction by a rotary (also known as a roundabout on the other side of the pond). Since most people in town go through the rotary at least once a day, the best way to get one's message out there is to put a sandwich board sign in the rotary.

There are usually one or two out there on any given day. Usually the sign is to advertise something like the upcoming 7th grade play (as is the one in the background) or to remind townspeople to haul their Christmas trees to the curb. The one and only retail business in town is also at the rotary, and the proprietors also put out their own sandwich board (the one in the foreground).

I often drive through the rotary several times a day and the last line on this sandwich board always grabs my attention. I have to say that in no way have I ever found the staff to be rude, surly, cheeky, or otherwise indecent. No way. You will have to go to another store in another town if you're looking for sassy staff!
