Ginger Spice

Today was the annual London to Brighton Veteran Car Run which has been running since 1896, so we headed down to Madeira Drive to the finish line.  We got there before 12pm and there were already quite a few cars that had arrived and were parked up, and Alan spotted Geri Horner (better known as Geri Haliwell or Ginger Spice from the pop group The Spice Girls) and her husband Christian Horner who is the Team Principal of the Red Bull Racing Formula 1 team, together with their three children.  I've added a photo of Christian to my extras, together with some of the cars.

We met up with Anne and her French Canadian friend Patrick who was visiting for the weekend, and we watched the cars arriving for an hour or so, but then we started to get quite cold so went and got a hot chocolate before heading back to the car. Once home we took the boys for a walk and then we've had a pretty chilled out afternoon and evening.

A little bit of sad news, Alan saw an article from the RNLI that they’d been called to deal with a deceased dolphin that had been washed up on our beach. This is just a week after the whale, which makes me wonder if something odd is going on out there, or is it coincidence. I saw one comment from someone questioning whether the noise from the windfarm is driving them further inland. Whatever it is, it’s very sad.

Anyway, that's another weekend over, hope you've had a good one!
