EVENING ALL

Another day of feeling tired. Also had a bit of an upset tummy.  Consequently I haven't done a great deal today.   Got all the washing up done - finally.  Its been piling up since Thursday.  I also ironed a few things - just the items which were essential.  Still loads to do - hopefully tomorrow.

So what to blip?. I was sorting through my brooches and pins this afternoon and came across this wooden policeman brooch.  It's second hand and I bought it many years ago at a jumble sale or in a charity shop.  There is a name and date written on the back ..... R Peterson 1984.  It measures 3.75 inches high. I bought it as it reminded me of what my husband Douglas would have looked like when he was in the Metropolitan Police. ( this was way before I knew him )  And of course it looks rather like " Dixon of Dock Green".

Dixon of Dock Green was a BBC TV series about daily life at a London police station, with the emphasis on petty crime, successfully controlled through common sense and human understanding. The central character was a mature and sympathetic police constable, George Dixon, played by Jack Warner in all of the 432 episodes, from 1955 to 1976. It was voted second most popular programme on British TV in 1961.

I had some craft paper with a brick decoration so I used that as a backdrop to my shot.

Lots of loud fireworks going off nearby tonight - for the third night running.  Cats aren't too bothered if they are indoors but they get a fright if they go off when they are outdoors and so they run in through the cat flap in a tizzy. Hopefully tomorrow will be the final night.
