Thank You For the Days ..

Going Nowhere

It was very grey this morning, and we agreed that it would be a good day for getting on with 'things' - hedge-cutting and washing and that sort of stuff.  By lunchtime we were feeling virtuous but itchy-footed.

We scraped together the makings of a picnic and headed for the hills.  I was hoping for some long views from the Carter Bar, but the mist had come down by the time we got there and we ended up eating our sandwiches in the car.

We tried a new route home and came on this rather elegant bridge near the hamlet of Southdean.  It turned out to lead just to a house, so our explorations got no further.

We're off out now to light our bonfire - no guy, no fireworks, just piles and piles of garden clearings.
