Merchant Adventurer’s Hall

The delays of yesterday didn’t spoil today!

A fascinating walk around York, poking into the alleys, snicklelways and cut throughs, lesser known parts of this wonderful city as well as the more popular areas such as the Shambles and its Market and, of course, the Minster. The extra is of Lady Peckett’s Yard (good job it was not a Passage then) named after the wife of a former Lord Mayor of York. See more at https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snickelways_of_York and of the War Memorial lit up against the night sky.

The main blip is of the Merchant Adventurers Hall http://www.merchantshallyork.org which is a magnificent building looking rather resplendent in the sunshine and autumn leaves.

A good positive meeting in the afternoon which will lead to more trips up to York in the New Year as we get to grips with developing a programme to educate vulnerable young people on the risks of online behaviours.

An enjoyable plate of fish and chips at Drakes in Low Petergate set me up for the journey back to Kent immeasurably improved by successfully upgrading to 1st Class for £10 using the Seatfrog app.

The journey back was as it should be, on time and eased by a couple of glasses of wine. Able to scoot from Kings Cross to Victoria in time to catch the 20.55 rather than the expected 21.25. I’m writing and posting this in anticipation of arriving home on time at 10.04. If it’s any different I’ll let you know tomorrow.
