Shrouds of the Somme.....

I'm having a weekend on my own. D is away having fun time with our sons before Joff takes on the responsibilities of fatherhood in January. They did the same 12 years ago for Matthew. 

After the Festival of Peace yesterday, I took myself off to this "physical representation of every one of the 72,396 British Commonwealth servicemen killed at the Somme who have no known grave....."at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford. It has an incredible impact. The story of how this incredible tribute came about is very humbling to read.
