Remembrance

My village church was packed for the Remembrance Day Service for the centenary of Armistice Day. So touching to hear the roll call of the village’s fallen from the Great War and WWII.

The bugle played the haunting Last Post which set my waterworks going. On the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month. We will remember them.

Even the village animals were paying their respects in the village with this beautiful horse and dogs out for walks wearing their poppies with pride.

The village pub was busy after the service as villagers with friends and family shared time together.

This evening the village Town Crier will perform A Cry for Peace around the world as more than 140 Town Criers perform the special written words throughout the UK and other countries around the world.
