The proof of the pudding . . .

. . . is going to cost me (us) a lot of pennies – that’s Christmas and burpdays taken care of for a few years . . . !!

Today I borrowed Mrs W’s Canon EF 24-105 to try out a standard full frame lens on the EOS R.  The inset is copied from the image shown and just expanded.  Photo taken hand held with 'anti-wobble' on.

I have added a shot of the church tower/clock at extra, but I wound up with a lot of excellent photos – technically anyway.

As great a ‘cropped frame’ lens the Tamron 18-270 is, it just cannot compare with the full frame ES 24-105, even though it’s only the “Mk 1”.  The "Mk 2" is apparently better, and the Canon RF 24-105 is designed for the new mirror less ‘EOS R’ and reputed as better still.  I do hate spending money, but why spoil the ship for a ha'p’orth of tar?!

I need to go and lie down in a darkened room now . . .
