Through the Trees

I was up later than intended this morning, which meant a rushed start to the day. I went over to Metheringham to visit my parents. On the way I took this photo whilst waiting for the crossing gates to open. It's taken on my phone, and nothing spectacular. A good photographer with decent equipment could have made a lovely deep shot here, and caught the falling leaves.

If I get decent Christmas money I may look at getting another small camera, as it's often not practical to lug the big one around with me, meaning that I end up with many more shots like this one!

I also looked in on a little Christmas fair. I didn't buy anything other than raffle tickets and I had a go on the Tombola of course! I won a tin of soup, which, as it was gluten free, I gave to my Dad.

I also won an owl design stuffed ornament thing. It is stuffed with herbs which may be catnip, judging by the way Minstrel reacted to it! If I wasn't concerned that he may pull off its button eyes and swallow them I'd let him have it - he's been going crazy since it came into the house!

At my folks' they had an early lunch while I did a few jobs, and then once I'd washed up we came back to Lincoln for my Dad to go and see the hearing aid specialist. It's in Specsavers which is, in turn, in Morrison's. As we were 30 minutes early for his appointment he sent me in to the store to get some shopping, and I then waited with my Mum in the car while he had his appointment. Hopefully in a couple of weeks he will have new hearing aids, at the vast cost of £1,500! Hopefully he will then be able to hear again, and every conversation will no longer have to be conducted at the same volume as a Slayer concert!

After the appointment they headed off home while I had a coffee and a bite to eat in the cafe and waited for Brian to join me to do some shopping. We also nipped over to Minstrel's vet and booked him in for his dreaded vaccination appointment!

Time at last to chill out and maybe enjoy a couple of ciders later. I'm cooking steak and mushroom stroganoff for tea for Zeph and I too!
