Surprise dog

Unaccountably I took no photos today despite enjoying a great day walking the dog in the Autumn sunshine and 'brunching' with Martin at the Linton Kitchen.  

This handsome dog was alone on the green over the road as we parked.  Realising that he must have escaped (from a back garden?) as he clearly had an owner,  I tried to catch him, but he was having none of it, growling and woofing at me.  

Eventually he bolted over the road and down a cul-de-sac.  He'd disappeared when we tried to follow him with a lead and some treats so we're hoping he's home and safe.
