Marjorie's ramblings

Earl Grey

It was a beautiful day in Newcastle today with bright sunshine and no wind. This made it a perfect day to show off the city to someone who had never been here before.

The riverside is the obvious place to go, with the Sage and the Baltic as stop off points. In the town itself we walked to see Grey's monument at the top of Grey Street and next to Monument Mall. I wonder how many of us know that Charles Earl Grey was British Prime Minister from 1830 - 34 and pushed through the Great Reform Act of Parliament? Most of us know that he had tea named after him!
