Scottish Politician of the Year Awards tonight.  

I was honored to win the Debater of the Year and it was also a good night for my SNP Colleagues with no fewer than 6 of the 10 categories being won by SNP members.   Congratulations also to Paul Sweeney and Anas Sarwar  of Labour and the  Tories Murdo Fraser.     Gillian Murray was recognized too for her passionate campaign ‘Lost Souls” inspired by the suicide of her Uncle.

I last won an award at this in 2000 though I have been nominated in several categories a number of times since.   So thanks to the judges and to all those who help me do what I do - politics is,  despite the premise of awards such as these, very much a team sport.
