Victorian Chimneys

I spent a very pleasant, if freezing cold, afternoon at Avoncroft Museum today. It is an open-air museum of historic buildings which have been rescued and relocated to the site near Bromsgrove.

I didn't take many photos as I've been there before, but I couldn't walk past these magnificent chimneys. They were rescued from Tudor Cottage in Cardiff and were placed on show as a separate exhibit at Avoncroft.

I just have a thing about decorative chimneys - it's wonderful how something so ordinary and utilitarian can be made to look so beautiful. Whoever was responsible for these was obviously a master craftsman.
