Life in Sunny Dubai

We have road tolls here, but unlike in other countries, they operate 24/7 x 365. It's a pain in the neck getting off the highway, but you get to see some interesting buildings/views when you do... :)

As we had such a fantastic service yesterday, I had no qualms about staying home in the morning to get ready for a new week. Awana was still on, so we got there in plenty of time. G has taken on the mammoth task of getting kids who can't shut up, sit still and/or listen to do a Nativity play. Last week when she asked, none of the kids knew what a Nativity play was. (They are 8-11 years old). You can imagine what lies ahead.

As schedules have it, she only had today to teach them six songs and get them to learn their part. For some reason, a number of them didn't show up today, so it makes it a bit more challenging. Next week is off on account of UAE National Day and then the performance is the following Saturday. There you go...

I have to say, I am just shocked at the ineptness of children these days. I can't stop wondering how their parents think they will somehow come out alright when needed. It bothered me the rest of the day, so much so, I drove straight home. No stopping off at the beach to drink spiced tea.
