There’s a Bright Golden Haze in The Medal

It’s been lovely the reaction to my last couple of blips.. the memories it has sparked!

My him and me talked long and hard about the milk bottles; the days the birds had pecked the lid! I loved those days! How clever the birdie to recognise milky milky.... the days the milk was frozen and the ice bergs poked through the lid.

The metal cuts on your finger when you poked your finger through unevenly. The spilt milk... the broken bottles. The clink of the milk float At 5am in the morning.

Days were longer then ... the milkman always smiled, the milk boys were a wee bit rough but always polite. The weather was better; the summers were warmer and longer And the winters were full of frosts which sparkles brighter than it does now.

No one blamed the state for anything; they just accepted their lot. When they made a mess of something they didn’t try to sue anyone for their own foolishness.

Nowadays. If we had milk bottles on the doorstep we’d have to shoot birds to stop them pecking the lids - unhygienic don’t you know. The milkman would have to wear rubber gloves and possibly and face mask.

The world has gone crazy. Let’s go back to easier time; a time when we weren’t litigation; health and safety crazy!

Ps ive just heats the news report on the problems of cows burping. Oh my god. Apparently it causes global warming. And we pay people to do this crazy mad research
