GRANGE-OVER-SANDS PROMENADE

Well such awful weather here today.  On my way back from Oxenholme Station after picking our friend up (yep his train ran and was relatively on time yeah) there was a brief moment when the rain and wind weren't lashing down so I went onto the lovely Promenade at Grange to take today's blip.

On a nice day you can get lovely views over to Arnside, Arnside Knott through to Hest Bank and onto Morecambe over the treacherous sands (quick sands) but beautiful to see.  Morecambe Bay (for those not local) is a tidal estuary and for me looks better when the tide is out.

The "island" you can see is a privately owned place called Holme Island, although it's not really an island as it has a road to it.

Grange now has marshland right up to the foot of the promenade as you can see but I understand it continually changes as the River Kent flows into it.

Grange Prom and Morecambe Prom are two of the best in the country with stunning views, as well as Arnside pier and Sandside are beautiful places I'm so lucky to be living here.  Not only does it look stunning but the communities are wonderful and people so friendly and welcoming.
