LOW SIZERGH FARM BARN SHOP AND CAFE EB

Hello all,

Busy day today.  After putting the final touches to G's room this morning and a couple of household chores I went to Oxenholme to pick G up from the station.  His train was only a couple of minutes late and I managed to help him off the train OK, even though his case was rather heavy.  To be fair the train guard from Virgin was there and helping too.

This will be the last trip G makes with Virgin as First Italia, calling themselves Avanti for the West Coast line takes over on the 8th December.  Now Virgin have always provided a good service from Edinburgh to Oxenholme (only been cancelled once in the last 4 years).  What Avanti will be like only time will tell, however the huge promises they are making on a reduced budget sounds very much like Northern - now those of us that live in the areas Northern trains run know how "good they were (NOT)", especially at the beginning and still at the weekends"

So G's train back on 18th December, although booked with Virgin 3 months ago will be rather telling.  At least we will have 10 days to judge how they are performing.  G with his medical conditions won't be able to get on the train if there are any problems.  Fingers and everything crossed.

Anywho after picking him up and stowing the case(s) we called into Low Sizergh Farm Barn Cafe for a lovely quiche for salad for lunch, before coming home.

Computer struggles - I shoot in RAW and therefore have to edit.  I went into Lightroom to do this to the above simple photo, usually a simple straightforward 30 seconds job for a single image.  Today however, for some obscure reason Lightroom has decided to convert my RAW images to DNGs - I prefer JPEGs, mostly because I understand them better and am not sure what do with DNGs.  So a full 30 minutes later I managed to figure out what Lightroom was doing and change it - yeaaaah!!!!  DARN COMPUTERS - can't cope with them can't cope without them.

Now going to settle down for tea and a chat and catch up.  Will try to get onto Blip to check out your images later.

Take care everyone, safe journeys if travelling.  Thank you so much for dropping by and I will see you all tomorrow
