Life through the lens...

By ValC

Seeing double.

I have been wanting to photograph these for a while.
Now the trees are bare we can see these masts from our house.

Emley Moor TV mast is having an upgrade, which will take about 5 years.
So it has been a huge project to build a temporary TV transmitter. Taller than the Shard at 1,040 ft.
The original mast is 1,084 ft. which is the tallest free-standing building in the UK.
Unfortunately because the scaffolding is still up I couldn’t get a photo without the bright street lamp.

At last we saw some sunshine this afternoon.
I had taken MrC to the Eye Hospital for a
pre-op appointment for the removal of cataracts.
The whole procedure took about 2 hours.
He was delighted with the thorough examination, and care given, and the first eye will be operated on 2nd Jan.

While I was sat in the waiting room the sun suddenly appeared shining through the windows. Everyone seemed to say, “ Oh the Sun!” at the same time!
A few dreary days, and how we all miss it.
