There's always one .....

..... as has to get there first.

Helleborus orientalis, the so called Lenten rose.  Not so unusual to see an early flower on these but I think this is about the earliest I have had.  Mind you, Norfolkdoc showed the Christmas Rose, Helleborus niger, with an open flower the other day so this one is just trying to keep up :-)

A busy sort of day.  Hospital for a photoshoot of Jamie's teeth.  Popped to see the local grandparents on our way home.  Life is not easy for both of them as age and ill health take their toll.  We provided a little light relief ... and I moved Grandad's new reclining chair into position while we were there.  It brightened up a bit this afternoon and the milder weather tempted me into some gardening.   Some recently arrived lily bulbs planted out and some pots washed plus a little seasonal tidying up.  Back indoors I managed to fit Jamie's old desk into Ruth's room .... just have to clear up the mess I made doing it now!
