Nicky and her Nikon

A bright day

Last night Gavin and I went to see the school play 'A Christmas Carol'. Every time we see the school play we come away thinking we could have been in a West End theatre, it was so professional and superbly acted. The boy who played Scrooge was simply outstanding. Of course Dickens got it right, didn't he, it's a heart warming tale of making good which is exactly what we need to see at this time of year, giving the message of the true spirit of Christmas.

While we were at the play, Thomas was in London at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers presenting his team's design for this year's entry into the Schools Aerospace Challenge. The shortlisted teams were invited to spend a week at Cranfield University in the summer, and following on from that, the three top teams were invited to present their design solution to some formidable engineers from the RAF, Rolls Royce and other sponsors. Their team came second and each member of the team was given a cheque for £250, how cool is that?!

Today was a much better day after the grim weather we have had all week as a result of Storm Diane (why do they find it necessary to name these storms?) It was sunny and bright all day, and I took this photo when out walking with Murdoch.

I visited a friend this morning who has just completed her radiation treatment for breast cancer, it was lovely to see her and she is well.

Tomorrow is the last rugby game of the season....and the forecast is for heavy rain!
