Willkommen in der Wellritzstraße
There are a few streets with similar designs, I shall try to get a Blip of all of them.
Wellritzstraße* is at the heart of what is called Little Turkey in Wiesbaden. It's full of little cafes and bars and speciality shops. There are always loads of blokes hanging around, chatting and smoking. The vibe is normally pretty good and as I'm really hyper-sensitive to an antagonistic atmosphere, you can take it that it's safe to walk through - I do all the time.
Since I haven't given G anything since her birthday and being a sharing sort of chap, I gave her my cold. She hasn't thanked me yet, I'm pretty sure she's just forgotten though.
I had a few errands to run today and that meant a quick dart into town. I saw but didn't go round the Weihnachtsmarkt (the Xmas market if you're wondering), it looked every bit as crammed with people and stuff you don't need as last year. I'm really looking forward to visiting. I might not make a fuss about Christmas but I do enjoy the market enormously.
* Your German language bit for today, the "ß" is called an Eszett and it represents a long "s". Sometimes it can be simply replaced by a double s but not always. ?In Maßen" (in moderation) does not have the same meaning as ?in Massen" (en masse).
With thanks to my dictionary for that rather good example.
