Jock, Tam and Charlie had no idea why they had been sat on the table guarding the tablet today. They were glad not to have been situated on the sunny side of the table because as you can imagine, a snowman in the sun is never a pleasant sight.

The banter between the boys was a joy to hear, discussions on whose nose was the longest, how many twigs had been used in the construction of their arms and how effective old buttons were at pulling the birds. The three agreed to meet up after the Garvald Bazzar at the Tynie Arms for a swift pint and a nip, before heading or rolling off into town for a shot on the big wheel. What Merry Festive Fun.

It was a lovely way to enjoy the first crisp, clear, frosty morning of December. I bought my usual, soon to be prized, tool - a magnificently dangerous looking three pronged hoe - and can't wait to use it. The event is always peppered with an assortment of blippers but I wonder how many of them knew I was one.

The afternoon was spent in the company of good pals, staying out of the still clear, frosty but now freezing cold day, chatting and drinking tea. Wonderful (in a winter wonderland kind of way) day all round
