Seeing Beyond Looking

The famous Chapel Bridge, Lucerne

Our visit to the medieval town (in the old part) of Lucerne was fabulous! There are so many interesting buildings and the bridges going over the River Reuss (which flows into the Lucerne Lake) are so charming.

This is the most well-known of the bridges and is called 'Kapellbrücke' Chapel Bridge. It stretches across the entrance to the River Reuss and is over 203 metres long. It was built in 1365 as part of Lucerne's fortifications.

The weather was mostly dull and rainy, but it didn't stop us visiting all the loveliest parts of this town.  We both said that we would like to return in the warmer season.
