Just 5 minutes from my home.

Well, er, this place is indeed five minutes from my home, but it does take a fair while to get up to this height above the Hopes reservoir on foot.

After a long and fairly tense yesterday, it was a pleasure to escape to the hills with my cycling pal Andrew. The paths were all thick, sheet ice, but the light was a joy.

Although I managed to lose a pair of decent shades, and Andrew and myself did a fair impression of Bambi on ice, it was a top afternoon. Nicely finished off with a slab of chocolate cake in the cafe.
